Taken from the Honest Girl Scouts campaign. For a campaign trying to get people /not/ to buy cookies and /not/ support the GSUSA, this is doing an awful lot to suddenly make me want /to/ support the GSUSA. (and I’m saying this a a former Girl Scout of about 6 years who hasn’t bought cookies in years because they’re too expensive).
I see so much acceptance here, and especially in a time in children’s lives where acceptance is so important, taking that away from them is just cruel.
I do deserve to know what Girl Scout cookies fund. And they deserve to have my money to support their pinko commie radicalism. Delicious, delicious radicalism.
Also I really enjoy that providing good and information-based sex education is supposed to be a negative point.Oh gds, I love the scare quotes around the sex ed parts. LOVE.
Ooh. Unfortunately, what I’ve taken from this is “BUY MOAR COOKIES”. Okay. Okay. Too bad the adorable Scouts next door moved away with their hoard of cookies and precious little merit badges.
Honestly this just makes me want to be even less stingy with my cash when I buy cookies. I may well end up with a freezer full this year because “IT’S FOR CHARITY”.
I’m thinking at least 10 boxes of Samoas.
Also like, this isn’t news. They’ve been pretty liberal since the time when my Grandmother was a scout.
perfect organization is perfect
I was a girl scout for a long long time <3
Can’t wait to get some cookies.
This is pretty cool. The only thing I remember from girls scouts is learning how to cook, clean, and QUILT…when all I wanted was to go camping and backpacking like the boy scouts. But this—this is something I can support. Maybe it’s because I quit when I was 12, but I never heard about any of this.
